THE 3 PILLARS OF FTS

BIBLICAL SCHOLARSHIP

1

FTS is committed to providing a scholarly and biblical foundation to equip followers of Christ for service in all vocational callings, whether in pastoral ministry or public service. Our goal is that all graduates will have a well-informed historical understanding of theological issues and advanced skills in competent academic research, biblical interpretation, exposition, exegesis, and communication. This, we believe, should all lead to increased personal integrity, love for God, and love for our neighbor as ambassadors of Christ. All FTS professors hold earned doctoral degrees from accredited institutions and are each accomplished scholars. FTS features on campus a 25,000-volume library with digital access to EBSCO/ATLA and DBpia that includes thousands of electronic books, journals, and magazines. While the Seminary programs are comprehensive (Undergraduate, Graduate, and Postgraduate), they are all designed to provide a Bible-focused and Christ-centered emphasis.

LOCAL CHURCH

2

At FTS, our goal is that all graduates will have adequate preparation to serve in ecclesiastic, educational, and community service vocations with increased skill in wisdom-living. FTS is housed on the campus of Grace Bible Baptist Church in Catonsville, MD, with a newly renovated Academic Building complete with a break lounge area and kitchenette, study conference room, library, and ten classrooms. Though FTS is a semi-autonomous institution, its close partnership with GBBC offers opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience by studying in the setting of a vibrant church campus. This helps us to fulfill our mission to serve God’s creational and redemptional mission through biblical theological education by growing and equipping followers of Christ as disciples who represent God’s glorious image, presence, and gospel in the workplace, the local church, and in the foreign field by proclaiming Christ to all the world through word and action “so that we may present everyone mature in Christ” (Col 1:28).

GLOBAL MISSIONS

3

At FTS, we share a heart for bringing the gospel to all the world. Our mission is to equip disciples to proclaim Christ to all the world. Our professors have a deeply missional perspective, since they have all traveled extensively throughout the world. They have taught in Africa, Egypt, Israel, Nepal, Korea, Israel, Africa, Europe, China, Uganda, Ukraine, India, Philippines, Poland, Japan, and many other places. This experience brings into the classrooms a rich international and cross-cultural understanding and emphasis on serving the world and the local church for the gospel of Christ.
